Following her divorce with Brad Pitt in September 2016, Angelina Jolie has lately opened up about her late mother in an interview for Elle France with journalist and friend Marianne Pearl.
She said the French-American actress Marcheline Bertrand would have contributed to the lives of her six children as a grandmother.
The actress said she is sad that Maddox, 15, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 10, and eight-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox will miss out the love and care of her mother, who died in January 2007 at the age of 56 after battling long with cancer.
Bertrand divorced with Oscar-winning actor Jon Voight in 1980, after around nine years of their marriage, when Jolie was just a toddler. She raised the actress and her brother Haven by herself.
The 41-year-old said motherhood is greatest gift and responsibility.
The interview took place in April, but is published in the current edition of the magazine.
