“Despacito” has achieved one more milestone and it is the best ever of all the achievements. The music video is now the most popular clip on YouTube with views count of over three billion.
Twelve weeks ago the Fonsi’s ubiquitous song with Daddy Yankee topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart and still at the same position. Last month it became the most-streamed song of all time revealing 4.6 streams on combined platforms.
YouTube announced Friday “Despacito” has surpassed Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth’s “Fast and Furious” anthem “See You Again,” which defeated K-pop star Psy’s breakout smash “Gangnam Style” about a month ago.
“Despacito” was posted on YouTube this year in January and since then it enjoyed good and growing popularity. It is also the most “liked” one on the platform.
The current statistics reveal the hot Latin single is adding about fifteen million new views every day and soon to become the first music video to reach four billion views.
