Five old friends from the Santa Barbara High School sit together on the same bench every five years for a snap. They have been doing the same for past 35 years.
In the remote serenity of Copco Lake on the California-Oregon border they met together for the eighth entry, to repeat the Internet sensation that took by storm in 2012.
The first photo was snapped in 1982 and from left to right are John “Wedge” Wardlaw, Mark Rumer-Cleary, Dallas Burney, John Molony and John Dickson.
Three of the five friends are married. Dickson tied the knot with Sharon at the age of 49 and at 51 he entered parenthood with son Jimmy. He is now 54.
Wardlaw lives in Bend, Oregon. He is a filmmaker. Rumer-Cleary lives in Portland, Oregon and he is a hardware and systems engineer. He founded Occam Networks. Burney lives in Antioch, California and is a teacher by profession. Molony lives in New Orleans and he is a photographer. Dickson lives in Santa Barbara and he is the founder of santabarbara.com tourism website.
